Town, villages and cities, shopping in Pembrokeshire

During your stay in our bell tents, tipis or yurts you will undoubtedly be venturing out to gather foods and other essential supplies from one of Pembrokeshire, picturesque villages or towns. With cool places to shop like St Davids, Tenby and Haverfordwest you will not be disappointed by your shopping experience. Listed below are the places we believe you should definitely not miss out of your glamping experience.     

St Davids

This is the smallest city in the UK with a population of just over 1600 residents and named after Saint David the patron saint of Wales. Don’t be fooled by the title of city, St Davids is like no city you are likely to have visited before. Awarded city status in 1995 the roots of the city go back to the 4th century when the Patron saint himself lived there. The cool and charming little city is full of cool and interesting shops for providing everything you should need, particularly so for the surfers, artists and outdoors enthusiast. St Davids definitely has a cool relaxed laid back bohemian feel to it. During then months between June and September the city also hosts a really good country market. As well as the cool shops in St Davids there is also a supermarket for all your essential needs.

http://www.masimes.co.uk/ Is a cool surf shop that sells everything surf orientated, they offer a wide range of surf brand clothes as well as stocking everything budding and pro board riders could wish for. They also have a great range of second hand boards as well as a host of new boards for all abilities.

http://www.jalimali.com/view/ offers an exotic, stunning and affordable range of accessories including jewellery, bags, knitwear and scarves from around the world, suitable for women of all ages. They trade fairly for all their products from small community based workshops.

http://www.pebblesyard.co.uk/  offer great art and gifts as well as lovely coffees and drinks upstairs, don’t miss it out.

http://www.pembrokeshirecrafts.org.uk/ is a shop in St Davids who offer a host of arts and crafts from local artists and craftsmen and women. Definitely worth a look as all their pieces are unique and special. 

http://www.stdavidsfoodandwine.co.uk/ are based on the main street on St Davids opposite Ma Simes surf shop, this little ship offers fine foods, snacks, wines and are the source of all good sandwiches in St Davids.

The old Sweet shop is one shop you will be hard pressed to pass without calling in, a few doors down from Ma Simes they offer stacks or original favourite sweets from your childhood.

Haverfordwest

Haverfordwest offers shoppers the opportunity to shop in larger stores, with a Morrison’s and Tesco’s supermarket with ample parking at both. The town also boasts many small and medium shops catering for all tastes. Additionally there is a farmers market alternating every other Friday as well as an indoor market with several riverside cafes beyond offering refreshments for the thirsty shopper. Two retail shopping parks on the outskirts offer shops such as Marks and Spenser, Next, Laura Ashely, Boots, Sports direct, wicks, comet as well as many other national chains of shops.

Pembroke is a nice town with big name conveniences such as Tesco and Asda as well as many smaller shops, cafes and restaurants all mainly contained on one main street.

As well as being the home of some great beaches, Tenby also offers our cool bell tent campers a chance to experience a boutique shopping town. Tenby has many of the larger stores needed for convenience such as Sainsbury’s and Tesco along with loads of small boutique shops nestled along cobbled streets. If you are coming to Pembrokeshire and enjoying one of our glamping units Tenby is not to be missed, you will not be disappointed with the beaches, shops or nightlife.

Although small Saundersfoot remains one of Pembrokeshires finest holiday resorts with many campsites, hotels and BB’s it maintains a village atmosphere but still pulls the returning holiday makers.
